Question : How much weight will these hands hold?

Question : How can i hang my hands?
Answer : Purchase the hands with our optional solid base ( without metal hardware ) if you just want to use them for display purposes. They will hold very little weight when mounted on a wall with just a screw or a nail. Simply put, It's all about leverage. The hands will have a tendency to slip off the nail or screw if you try to add weight.
We recommend drilling holes at an angle in our solid base hands for wall mounting. The nail you put in the wall to hang your hands should also be set at an angle ( pointing up towards the ceiling ).
Some of our customers have been creative in mounting our hands to avoid the additional expense of our metal hardware. One suggestion was to epoxy a screw in the solid base by drilling a hole deep and wide enough to accommodate the screw head. Drywall anchors are installed in the wall. The hand with the attached hardware is simply screwed into the wall anchor. You may have a problem with this method because when the base touches the wall the hand may not be in the desired position. If you loosen it to position the hand then its not flush on the wall. If you tighten to position the hand then you risk pulling the anchor out of the wall.
Question : You say that your hands can be used for soft mannequins. How do you attach them to soft body mannequins?
Answer : Soft body mannequins are usually made with a wood skeletal frame. The frame is wrapped with fiber ( stuffing ) and cloth and then the components ( head, hands, ETC ) are then attached. The hands are usually attached by drilling small holes on each side of the wrist near the base and secured with wire thru the wood skeleton. Please dress your soft mannequin because they look ugly without clothes.
Question : What kind of paint should i use for touch-Up or if i want to repaint my hands?
Answer : You can use an exterior grade acrylic latex. We recommend satin but you can use a flat paint. If you do use a flat paint we recommend a protective coating with a clear flat acrylic or matte. You can purchase clear matte or acrylics in most hardware and art stores in a spray can.
